The Functions Of Evaporator And Condenser In Your Air Conditioning System

The two most essential elements in your air conditioners and any other cooling systems are condensers and evaporators. The coils of the condenser and evaporator help in cooling the place. Let’s discuss how these coils work and what their functions are.

Function Of An Air Conditioner:

The air conditioners help in removing the heat simultaneously cooling down the place inside your home or any other building. The function of the air conditioner involves the circulation of the refrigerant inside the air conditioner between the outdoor and indoor units. The circulation of the refrigerant allows the change in state, from the liquid state to the gaseous state and again from the gaseous state to the liquid state.

This change of state process happens again and again. The process of circulation of the refrigerant occurs because of the presence of the evaporator inside your air conditioner. When due to the circulation of the refrigerant, the liquid state changes into a gaseous state inside the indoor unit, and the absorption of the heat happens. Similarly, when the refrigerant compresses and the gaseous state converts into a liquid state inside the outdoor unit, it leads to the process of releasing heat. The cycle of releasing heat and absorbing heat repeats continuously.

The Role Of Evaporator And Condenser Coils

In the process of heat transfer, the evaporator coils and condenser coils play a very important role.

The evaporator and condenser coils are made up of copper so that the process of transferring heat would be easier. In the latest technology, vanes and fins are the latest introductions in the manufacturing of the air conditioning system because they help in increasing the surface area which leads to the easy movement of heat transfer.

Evaporator Coils:

The main function of evaporator coils is to convert the liquid state to a gaseous state in the refrigerant. For the completion of the process, the refrigerant has to move from the expansion valve to the coils of the evaporator. Due to the movement, the refrigerant pressure decreases and the expansion valve changes the liquid state into the gaseous state.

The evaporator coils help in the occurrence of the process of heat transfer, and as a result, a cold surface is created.

The blower attached to your air conditioner moves the air and also creates cool conditioned air which decreases the temperature inside your house or any other building. And as we discussed above, the movement of the compressor of the gaseous refrigerant happens in the outdoor unit of your air conditioner.

Condenser Coils:

Condenser coils are placed inside the outdoor unit of your air conditioner. It helps in the process of refrigerant in which the gaseous state changes again to the liquid form. The completion of this process is fully dependent on the compressor because the compressor helps in increasing the pressure of the gas. The pressure leads to a change in the gaseous state back to the liquid.

  1. […] The process of evaporation is used to fulfill numerous purposes in the chemical and process industry widely, including the concentration of solutions (often as a precursor to crystallization of the solute), vaporization of liquefied gasses, refrigeration applications (cooling or chilling), and generation of pure and mixed vapors for process applications. The Evaporator is usually reserved vapors for the first of these applications, namely the evaporation of the solvent from a solution in order to concentrate the solution.Every evaporator design will have a means of transferring heat energy through a heat transfer surface as well as a means to effectively separate the vapors from the residual liquid or solid. Differences in how these separations are achieved distinguish one type of evaporator from another.Because of their efficiency, evaporators are well-suited to an array of industrial applications. They are particularly common in processing industries. Evaporators are widely employed in most of the industries that depend on a constant supply of fluids or chemicals.Heat recovery evaporators are used to convert seawater into clean water in desalination plants. Utility companies tend to prefer these evaporators over alternative solutions because of their simplicity and minimal energy requirements. The end result is lower operational costs. Evaporators are also used in oil fields to separate water and various other compounds from crude oil. Evaporators are also ideal for very low temperature applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries.Designed to serve a variety of practical uses, evaporators are a versatile solution to many common industrial challenges. At Alaqua, we use our experience and expertise to manufacture evaporators that thrive in any application.  […]
